The Association of European Turfgrass Producers, ETP, was formed on the 24th of November 2014 in Pisa. Its role is to connect the 700 or more turf growers throughout Europe, many of whom are quite isolated in terms of their geography, and in terms of their interaction with other growers. Bringing all those turf growers together will create a group with considerable potential for pooling resources, learning from each other, and tackling the issues facing our industry.
The social element of the Association is important because that’s where some of the most fruitful conversations can be had… and where the most useful contacts can be made.
The work of ETP will complement the role of national turf associations who are providing an excellent regional service to their members. On a European scale ETP will reinforce and strengthen this increasingly important industry. One of the advantages of a European association is that growers from different countries can talk openly to each other with less fear of giving ideas to a competitor. ETP intends to form relationships and partnerships with existing bodies to ensure the mutual exchange of information for the benefit of all turf growers.
