ETP Turf Show 2022 Pattensen, Germany
After a well-attended evening event of the ETP, the evening before in Hildesheim, the ETP “Turf Show” and fieldday, which had been postponed three times, took place in Pattensen, Germany, on the 8th of July.
More than 450 visitors attended the field day, according to information from the ETP and the organising Rasenland Pattensen. Despite Corona and other hardships, the audience was again very international. Thus, the more than 450 visitors are spread over 20 nations. Among them were 26 guests from the USA, who had travelled especially for this event.
From the German side, 27 turfproducers and members of the German Turfproducers Association (Deutscher Rollrasen Verband – DRV), took part in the event with over 90 guests. It was therefore the right decision of the DRV board to link its annual summer meeting with the ETP field day. After a summer conference with record-breaking participation the day before near Hannover, the DRV members also flooded the event of their association member and former chairman, Albrecht Frhr. Knigge, owner of Rasenland Pattensen and current ETP chairman.
On the huge exhibition and demonstration area of more than 25 hectares, there was plenty of space for everyone. The exactly 30 exhibitors, who were distributed on the site according to a detailed plan, came from 23 countries.
The 20 machine suppliers had built up on a distance of what felt like one kilometre in length in order to demonstrate their latest models and developments extensively. In order to “highlight” some machine novelties, an arena with grandstand had been set up centrally at the entrance. At the morning presentation of these highlights, all seats were occupied.
The event was structured in such a way that the program was repeated in the afternoon, so that missed demonstrations could be attended in the afternoon.
Highlights of the event were, of course, the large mowers and the numerous harvesters. Many of the visitors followed them in large numbers during the demonstrations.
In addition to the huge catering area, where it was usually possible to eat and drink quickly and without too long waiting times, the 10 other exhibitors from the seed and fertilizer industry and the chemical industry also found many interested parties. Especially the brand-new turf installer of the company Ziegler, Germany, which demonstrated the handling of its turf installer on the site.
After talks with many participants and exhibitors, everyone was very satisfied with the event. It was good to meet again in this format, after more than two years. The practical and personal exchange with the international colleagues and the machine companies was missing.
Thus, the ETP as organizer can draw a very positive conclusion and only hope that the next field day can take place again without postponements.
