Heat and drought stress

Grass reactions to heat and drought stress:

  • Root flattening
  • Leaf necrosis
  • Reduced photosynthate activity
  • Increased respiration: more carbohydate consumption

For turf vitalization and preparation for drought and heat stress, additional potassium applications with Kali Gazon can be recommended. Typical dry spot symptoms, so-called Localized Dry Spots (LDS) and leaf necrosis can be significantly reduced by timely

application of potassium.

Potassium also supports regeneration after drying damage has already occurred in most grass species.

High potassium with added magnesium and sulphur make Kali Gazon the stress reliever, improving turf tolerance against drought, disease and cold temperatures.

A sufficient supply of potassium reduces evaporation losses, so that irrigation can be saved. Magnesium is an essential element of chlorophyll formation and thus promotes the assimilation performance (energy intake) of turf. The high sulphur content supports protein and enzyme formation and has a pH-regulating effect on the soil.

Kali Gazon

Kali Gazon should be used prior to drought and frost stress to improve the sward density by strengthening regeneration growth, promoting root growth, reserve material storage and stocking.

During heat and drought stress, Kali Gazon alleviates stress caused to turf by promoting root growth and strengthening the regeneration of growth. Kali Gazon also reduces the amount of leaf damage and dry spots on turf surface areas.
